*1..

The roots of "X" as a measurement standard can be traced back to Carl Frederick Gauss (1777-1855) who introduced the concept of the normal curve. X has evolved a lot over time.

As Geoff Tennant describes in his book "X: SPC and TQM in Manufacturing and Services": "X is many things, and it would perhaps be easier to list all the things that X quality is not. X can be seen as: a vision; a philosophy; a symbol; a metric; a goal; a methodology." We couldn't agree more.

What are we talking abt..... X = ??

2..

Today the "X International Inc." is the product of a merger between "Y" and "X" Inc. which took place in 1999. Although Y was twice the size of X, the combined company chose the name "X" because of its superior brand recognition.

However, the corporate headquarters were consolidated to Y's headquarters in Morristown, New Jersey rather than X's former headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

X maintains a very active community involvement program called "Hometown Solutions". Program initiatives include matching employee volunteer involvement with charitable donations, encouraging study of maths and science, re-building after hurricane Katrina and a long-standing partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children called "Got2bSafe".

What are X and Y ...... ?? (1 pt for each.... )

*3..

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, "S" is the second-most popular song in the English language, following "Happy Birthday to You" and followed by "Auld Lang Syne."

"S" is a British and American song which is sung to congratulate a person on a significant event, such as a retirement. The melody originates from that of the French song "Marlbrough s'en va-t-en guerre."

"The navel is naturally placed in the center of the human body, and, if in a man lying with his face upward, and his hands and feet extended, from his navel as the centre, a circle be described, it will touch his fingers and toes. It is not alone by a circle, that the human body is thus circumscribed, as may be seen by placing it within a square. For measuring from the feet to the crown of the head, and then across the arms fully extended, we find the latter measure equal to the former; so that lines at right angles to each other, enclosing the figure, will form a square."

2 * ....

The origin of X has been debated for years. Printed likenesses can be traced back to the 19th century, such as the The Yellow Kid character from Richard F. Outcault's strip, Hogan's Alley.

since his debut in Y
X has appeared in a slew of guises, including Geroger Washington, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen, Kurt Cobain, Bart Simpson, Michael Jackson, George Bush and many more.... Considering X's ubiquity as a cover boy, it is perhaps ironic that the single highest-selling issue of Y depicted only his feet.

He was also briefly known as Mel Haney, When in one of the issue Mel Haney was also described as his name.

A female version of X, named Moxie Cowznofski and occasionally described in editorial text as X's "girlfriend," appeared briefly during the late 1950s.

Identify X and Y....

This song "S" is the fifth and final single by American singer-songwriter "Y" from Y's third studio album, True Blue, and it was released on February 25, 1987 by Sire Records.

S was written by Patrick Leonard and Bruce Gaitsch, and originally intended for Michael Jackson for his Bad album, who, according to Gaitsch, turned it down.

Y accepted it in Jackson's place, and wrote the song's lyrics, earning a co-writing credit. Lyrically, the song speaks of the simplicity and authenticity of "boy-meets-girl love".

Internationally, "S" was a bonafide worldwide hit which reached number one in the UK, France and Germany....
